Would you like to donate labor as a volunteer in exchange for bike repair knowledge? We have projects such as scavenging the wheel graveyard for hubs, rims, spokes and tires to do. We offer one one one time with one of the owners, Ryan and Jen, involving bike business entrepreneurship. From the books, to the greasy parts, we encourage community.
Pictured is a tower of wheels with good rims, bent rims, quality hubs and junky hubs. Which ones are worth saving? How do I fix this one? We will sort through the wheels together, cull the good ones and show you the qualities of wheels that make them worth keeping and polishing.
We will provide lattes, lunch or beer depending on the time of day for the given project. Your labor is a catalyst for getting things done. Free tshirts available too.
For the wheel graveyard project, we will learn about bearings, races, cones and axles. Other projects like building cranks involve gearing ratios and bolt circle diameter calculations. Bike maintenace is at the heart of all things bike related.
We are a “mom and pop” shop; Ryan and Jen. We work Monday throught Saturday on everything from bikes to small business tasks. Certain projects need a team. We are happy to host you for 1 day projects. Lengthier tenures available. Call 720-837-8984 or email: bikes@standardbikerepair.com
