We got a call from Charlie Zubella from Wisconsin Cheese LLC. He said “My friend wants a mountain bike for $100. Where can he possibly get one?”
“Charlie, are you out of your mind? There is no way that you can get a decent mountain bike for a hundred bucks. I don’t know. Community Cycles, Fat Kitty Cycles and Craigslist have used bikes available and on the floor, but good luck finding one cheap that isn’t a wreck.”
Five minutes later, I called back: “Charlie, we can build you one. A friend, Jason Estes, just donated a frame. We have recycled parts laying around here and Jeremy Kuhn can build it up for you. Not a problem at all. Let’s do it.”
