Our Story

Former location of Standard Bike Repair

Standard Bike Repair began in 2010, operating out of a small cottage home in Boulder. Ryan started with almost zero repair knowledge, but quickly learned the simplicity and joy of single-speed bikes. From there, he built a shop where riders could be part of the process instead of waiting in the dark.

In April 2025, Standard Bike Repair moved into Boulder Sports Recycler, bringing the same hands-on approach to a larger, shared space rooted in reuse, access, and community.

That’s why the heart of SBR is Watch. Help. Learn. You don’t need to be “mechanically minded.” You just need curiosity. Most people watch. Some help. Everyone learns.
